Certifications and Quality Standars

To ensure the highest standards of quality, sustainability, product safety, and social responsibility,
Mito aligns its operations with internationally recognized certifications and testing standards.
These frameworks help guarantee responsible production processes, traceability of materials, safe textile
products, and ethical working conditions throughout the supply chain.

OEKO‑TEX® Standard 100 is one of the most widely recognized certifications for textile safety.
It verifies that every component of a textile product — including yarns, dyes, and accessories —
has been tested for harmful substances and is safe for human use.
The certification provides assurance that textile products comply with strict international safety criteria.

Better Cotton is a global sustainability initiative aimed at improving cotton production worldwide.
The program promotes responsible farming practices that reduce environmental impact, optimize water
and chemical use, and improve working conditions for farmers and local communities.
Through this initiative, companies contribute to the development of more sustainable cotton supply chains.

ISO 9001 is an internationally recognized standard for quality management systems.
It ensures that companies implement structured processes to consistently deliver products
and services that meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
The certification promotes continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

L’Hohenstein Institute is an independent German research and testing organization specialized in textiles.
It conducts laboratory testing to verify key product characteristics such as durability, colour fastness,
dimensional stability, and performance under industrial washing conditions.
These tests ensure that textile products meet strict technical and quality standards required by professional users.

SA8000 is an international certification standard focused on social accountability in the workplace.
It sets requirements related to workers’ rights, including the prohibition of child labour and forced labour,
safe and healthy working conditions, freedom of association, fair remuneration, and non‑discrimination.

Company Policies

At Mito, our policies reflect the principles that guide our daily operations and long‑term vision.
With more than 160 years of textile heritage and a fully integrated production structure, we are committed to combining industrial expertise, responsible practices, and continuous improvement in the way we work with customers, employees, and partners.

Environmental Responsibility

Environmental protection is an integral part of our industrial strategy. We operate in compliance with applicable environmental regulations and align our activities with recognized international standards.
Our approach focuses on responsible sourcing of raw materials, increasing the use of certified and lower‑impact fibres, and monitoring key indicators such as energy consumption, emissions, and water use.

We also promote waste reduction, recycling of textile scraps, and careful management of chemicals and production processes.
Our products are designed for durability and repeated industrial washing, supporting longer product life cycles.
Packaging and logistics are optimized to reduce environmental impact, while ongoing investments in technology and innovation support continuous improvement of our environmental performance.

Social Responsibility

Respect for people is a fundamental value at Mito. We operate in compliance with labour laws and internationally recognized principles, promoting fair working conditions, equal opportunities, and respect for human rights.

Child labour and forced labour are strictly prohibited, and all employment relationships must be based on dignity, transparency, and informed consent.
We are also committed to providing safe workplaces, supporting freedom of association, and fostering an inclusive environment where diversity is valued.

These principles extend to our supply chain, where suppliers and partners are expected to adhere to the same ethical and social standards.

Quality Commitment

Quality has been at the heart of Mito. We specialize exclusively in professional table linen for the hospitality sector, combining textile expertise, advanced production processes, and close collaboration with our customers.

From raw material selection to weaving, finishing, and logistics, each stage of production is monitored to ensure consistent performance, durability, and aesthetic quality.
Our objective is to provide reliable products that maintain their characteristics over time, even under demanding industrial washing conditions.

Continuous innovation, technical training, and performance monitoring support our commitment to constant improvement.

Governance and Business Conduct

Our governance model is based on integrity, transparency, and accountability. Management integrates environmental, social, and ethical considerations into strategic decision‑making and ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

We adopt a zero‑tolerance approach to corruption and require transparency in business relationships, as well as proper management of potential conflicts of interest.
Internal control systems, risk management processes, and confidential reporting tools help ensure that all company activities remain aligned with our ethical standards and corporate policies.

Sustainability & ESG Commitment

At Mito, sustainability is not a separate initiative but an integral part of the way we design products, manage production, and build long-term relationships with our customers and partners.

With more than 160 years of textile heritage and a fully integrated production structure, our approach combines industrial expertise, responsible resource management, and continuous improvement across environmental, social, and governance dimensions.

Our ESG framework is built on the principles defined in our company policies and translated into measurable actions and indicators.

Environmental Performance

Reducing environmental impact is a key priority for our production activities. We continuously monitor energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions in order to improve efficiency and identify opportunities for reduction.

Between 2024 and 2025, the production site reduced its natural gas consumption from 141,458 kWh to 119,347 kWh and electricity consumption from 1,825,197 kWh to 1,488,294 kWh, reflecting a significant improvement in energy efficiency across operations.

As a result of these efforts, total greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1 and Scope 2) decreased from 828.50 tCO2e in 2024 to 683.62 tCO2e in 2025, confirming a tangible reduction in the environmental footprint of our production processes.

Our People

People are at the centre of our sustainability approach. The company promotes fair working conditions, equal opportunities, and a safe working environment for all employees.

During 2025, Mito involved 132 employees, with a balanced gender distribution: 73 women and 59 men, representing respectively 55% and 45% of the workforce.

Our workforce is mainly engaged in core production activities, with 47 employees in the weaving department and 60 in confection, supported by administrative, management, and quality control teams.

Governance and Responsible Management

Strong governance is essential to ensure transparency, ethical conduct, and long-term value creation.

Our management integrates environmental, social, and ethical considerations into strategic decision-making and operational management. Risk management, internal controls, and transparent communication with stakeholders help ensure that our activities remain aligned with high standards of integrity and accountability.

Looking Ahead…

Sustainability is a continuous journey.

Building on the progress achieved so far, Mito intends to further strengthen its ESG framework in the coming years by expanding the monitoring of environmental indicators, improving resource efficiency, and increasing the use of sustainable materials and certified fibres.

By combining tradition, industrial know-how, and responsible practices, Mito aims to contribute to a more sustainable future for the textile industry and for the hospitality sector it serves.
